NDSCS linemen make top-50 list

WAHPETON — Jacob Fahrenkrug and Matt Williams of the North Dakota State College of Science football team received national attention this week as Rivals.com announced their list of the top 50 junior college players in the country.

Fahrenkrug, a sophomore from Robbinsdale, Minn. was ranked sixth overall and the No. 1 offensive lineman by the highly regarded scouting Web site. He has narrowed down possible schools choices and is currently considering: Auburn, Arizona, Florida State and Arkansas.

In addition to his honors from Rivals.com, Fahrenkurg was named to the Pre-Season All-American Team by JCFootball.com.

Williams, of Eport, United Kingdom, is ranked 46th overall by Rivals.com.

The sophomore offensive lineman has received scholarship offers from California, Illinois, Florida State, Iowa State, Kansas and Kansas State.

The Wildcats open play this Saturday at home against conference foe (Ill.) Joliet Junior College.

Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. with tailgating sponsored by Residence Life and the Campus Activity Board to begin at 11:30 a.m.
