Law enforcement officials responded to a semi rollover at 1:58 a.m. Monday, Oct. 7 on the on-ramp to Interstate 29 from N.D. Highway 13.

Jose Barragan, 53, Coon Rapids, Minn., and his passenger, Andrew Flaschenriem, 23, were taken to St. Francis Healthcare Campus in Breckenridge, Minn., for non-life threatening injuries.

Barragan was hauling candy owned by the McLane company when he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway on the on-ramp, according to a press release issued by the Richland County Sheriff’s Office. The semi left the roadway and rolled one-quarter turn landing on the driver’s side of the vehicle. The trailer and cab both landed on the driver’s side. Both Barragan and Flaschenriem were able to exit the semi.

Agencies responding to the accident were the Richland County Sheriff’s Office, Dwight Fire Department, Mooreton Fire Department and Breckenridge Ambulance Service, Inc.
