St. Mary’s School of Breckenridge, Minnesota, held its eighth grade graduation ceremony on Tuesday, May 28.
The following awards were given out at their ceremony:
Academic Excellence awards were presented to Matthew Noll, Ivy Ovsak, Daymon Smith and Mark Wermerskirchen.
The Academic Achievement award was presented to Kelsey Ceroll.
The Citizenship Award, recognizing St. Mary’s Student Ambassadors, went to Zane Mikkelson, Matthew Noll, Ivy Ovsak and Mark Wermerskirchen
Austin Drewlow received the Perfect Attendance award.
The 2019 recipient of the Rob Schuler Award at St. Mary’s School is Mark Wermerskirchen, son of Scott and Wendy Wermerskirchen of Breckenridge. The award was presented by Zach Haire and Cindy Schuler Deal, representing the Schuler family, at the ceremony.
The Schuler Award is given to the eighth grade boy or girl at St. Mary’s who has worked to the best of his or her ability.
This student shall have demonstrated in their daily conduct the Christian beliefs that are basic to their education at St. Mary’s. This student shall have shown concern for other classmates and show respect and courtesy for teachers.
This award is to be given to the student who has continually shown a good example to underclassmen in school. It is voted on by their peers and teachers.
Mark Wermerskirchen also received an engraved plaque. A $500 donation was also given to the St. Mary’s School trust fund in his name. His name will also be added to a plaque that remains displayed at the school.
