WHIRLWIND!  Yesterday’s gusts weren’t the only news in the outdoors, as a mountain lion entered Bismarck city limits and was shot by authorities.  We talk about that and more in today’s Three Things.

THREE THINGS

CAT DOWN.  A mountain lion was shot and killed near the Bismarck Municipal Ballpark yesterday morning, according to the Bismarck Tribune.  The 1 to 2-year-old male cat was reported early in the morning and then tracked and dispatched by local police along with NDG&F agents. The lion had been caught previously and tagged by the agency in October, near Regent.

UV GOT IT. The growing hype around UV-treated lures with paint schemes and coatings which reflect the invisible spectrum of light has some scientific background to it.  Learn what it’s all about in this Field & Stream expose.  Needless to say, the market is growing and this addition to catch anglers in the tackle aisle – also catches fish.

KINDA CALM.  There’s no snow on the long-range sensors as we inch our way into the middle of January.  Additionally, no bone-chilling cold is on tap either, as temps remain in the 20s throughout the forecast for the next week or so.  Enjoy!
