CALM BEFORE THE…CALM?  Things are looking great this Super Saturday as a gorgeous day rolls out on the water, and the next week looks to put summer in full swing with almost ideal conditions every day, save for a chance at some storms due to the heat.  We cover that, a big shooting sports event and a second chance at deer in our Outdoors Roundup.

OUTDOORS ROUNDUP:

HOT & CALM.  The forecast is something out of a super summer playbook as winds subside and temperatures spike for the next six days.  Save for a shot at a shift at the end of next week, this looks like the one to be out on the water.

TAKE STATE.  Those calm conditions will be ideal for trap shooters showing their stuff at the annual ND Trap Association’s State Tournament in Bismarck, hosted by Capital City Gun Club.  The Youth Event is set for Wed. Jul. 17, and the adult singles and doubles events roll on through the weekend (18-21).

APPLY TODAY.  For those unsuccessful in the firearms deer lottery, the NDG&F’s second drawing for leftover tags has a deadline of July 24.  All unsuccessful resident applicants from the first round can apply at the agency’s licensing page.
