Hankinson-Fairmount-Campbell-Tintah-Rosholt-Lidgerwood came out strong in a doubleheader Tuesday at LaMoure.
The H-F-C-T-R-L baseball team scored four runs in four innings with multiple base runners on every inning — until LaMoure started to heat up their cold bats with timely hits that suddenly left H-F-C-T-R-L behind 7-4 in the first game, and 5-4 in the second, said coach Chad Wittner.
“We also made a couple crucial errors and Lamoure was able to turn a 4-1 deficit into a 7-4 lead,” scoring six runs in the fourth inning, Wittner said.
Preston Bohnenstingl had three hits, while Austin Bladow had two that scored two runs. Broden Frolek pitched a complete game in the doubleheader opener.
Game two was similar to the first game, Wittner said, with H-F-C-T-R-L scoring two right away to take a lead, which they carried into the fifth inning, when that two-point lead grew to four points, he said.
“Through a series of solid at-bats, Lamoure was able to score five runs and defeat us” in the second game, Wittner said.
Kaden Kelly took the loss. Frolek had three hits and Bohnenstingl two to lead their team at the plate.
