Elderly driver injured in Thursday accident near Dwight

A 92-year-old woman sustained minor injuries in a two-vehicle accident near Dwight, North Dakota, Thursday afternoon.

The Richland County Sheriff's Office reported receiving an emergency call at 3:48 p.m. Nov. 4 for a two-vehicle crash on Richland County roads 10 and 81 near Dwight. The driver of the second vehicle and his passenger were not injured, but both vehicles sustained heavy damage.

The 92-year-old driver from Christine, North Dakota, was transported by family to a Fargo hospital. 

Seatbelts were in use by those involved and the airbags did deploy in both vehicles, the sheriff's office stated. Identities of those involved have not yet been released by law enforcement.

In addition to the sheriff's office, responders included Dwight Fire and Rescue, and Breckenridge Ambulance Service, Inc.

The crash remains under investigation.
