Bonnie Jean Fjeld, 82
Bonnie Jean Fjeld (née Troxel) died peacefully in her home in Buffalo, Minnesota on June 29, 2019 at the age of 82.
Bonnie was born on July 8, 1936 in Wahpeton, North Dakota, to Elaine D. (née Schennum) and Kenneth B. Troxel. Bonnie attended Breckenridge Schools most of her childhood.
She married John “Jack” Underberg, her high school sweetheart in 1952. They have four boys: Ricky, Kevin, Michael and Mitchell. Jack died in an accident in 1962. Bonnie then married Dean Fjeld in 1965. She next gave birth to her youngest son, Wade.
Bonnie worked a variety of jobs throughout her life. A most interesting time of her life was when she managed a guest house in Negril, Jamaica. She loved Jamaica and introduced many of her family members and friends to the friendly island.
Bonnie enjoyed collecting antiques. She enjoyed cooking and has passed along many recipes. She was generous and loved a good laugh. Her most recent passions included watching the Minnesota Twins and the Minnesota Vikings.
Bonnie is survived by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as her sister Beverly (and Donald) Dozak (Breckenridge, Minnesota) her brother Gary (and Sharon) Minnesota) and Duane “Butch” Troxel Longmont, Colorado.) as well as nieces and nephews. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents and her husband John P. “Jack” Underberg.
A celebration of her life is scheduled from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 9 at the Buffalo Legion Hall.
