FORT DODGE, IOWA. — The North Dakota State College of Science volleyball team is quickly erasing its 0-2 start, climbing back to 3-4 after a 2-2 weekend at the Triton Invitational on the Campus of Iowa Central Community College. Sophomores Jalen Ennen and Katie Krieger were both named to the all-tournament team as they continue to lead the youthful Wildcats.
NDSCS fell 3-0 to nationally ranked host team Iowa Central to open the tournament. The Wildcats bounced back in match No. 2 against William Penn JV, grinding out a 3-2 victory. Morgan Vosberg tallied 53 assists in the win and Krieger was extremely active from her libero spot with 35 digs. Stella Laser led the ‘Cats with 16 kills.
NDSCS got off on the right foot with a sweep of Illinois Central Community College on day two, before dropping a tough 3-0 loss to Parkland College to end the weekend. Ennen recorded 10 kills in the win over Illinois Central, while Abbie Mitteness and Vosberg each scored two aces. Ashton Sagasser was an effective attacker with nine kills for NDSCS.
