Woods, Manock win NDHSAA State Championships

Is there anything Wahpeton sophomore Scout Woods can’t do? Following an impressive freshman campaign on the golf course, and all-state honors in basketball this season, Woods added an NDHSAA State Championship in the shot put Thursday, May 25 in Bismarck, N.D. Woods earned her title with a throw of 42”00.50’. Woods is pictured with her father, Wahpeton High School throwing coach David Woods.

Ethan Manock is equally diverse in his talents. The Wahpeton senior won the boys discus Friday, adding another state title on the shelf alongside his 2022 javelin championship. Manock's discus throw traveled 153"09'. The all-time leader in blocks for the Wahpeton basketball program and a multi-time state champion in the summer baseball ranks, Manock ends his career as the record holder for discus at Wahpeton High School with a career-best mark of 167’08”.
